What is WebMail?   It's a way to get your Datavoice-Hosted E-Mail using the Web, from any PC in the world.  Wherever you can get Web Access, just log onto http://webmail.datavoice.net.  WebMail looks directly at our server, so any e-mail messages that your Outlook (or other E-Mail program) hasn't already downloaded will be there waiting. 

Webmail address: http://webmail.datavoice.net -  Login with your username and password 

      Note, your username is the left part of your e-mail address - before the '@'
        Unless you have a special username with digits - like 'steve001' - if so, use your special username.

      The first task after login is to click 'Options' / 'Personal Information'

      - Important - make sure to enter your Email Address and Reply Address (should be the same)

      Feel free to set other options to suit your style preferences.  Check out the themes, styles (font) and Address Book!

The spam filter will mark messages with the [SPAM] flag in the subject line.  Your Outlook program can use this to automatically move Spam mail to a Junk Mail folder.

Note: The Spam filter has been found to be quite accurate for most users.  If you would like us to DELETE Spam messages at the server before they get to your mailbox, please advise us HERE.  

Is your webmail box slow to load ?  It might be because your Trash folder has grown too large.

 

As you delete messages in webmail, the messages actually move to the Inbox.Trash folder.  This is done as a fail-safe against accidental file deletion.   When there are messages in the Trash folder, there will be the word "Purge" directly to the right of it.  You may see only the letters "Pur.."  Get in the habit of clicking on Pur.. regularly to empty the trash.  This will keep the file from growing too large and delaying the mailbox's loading.

 

Tip: Optionally, you can turn off the Trash Folder.  Then, when you delete messages they will really be deleted right away !

    to do this, open your webmail box, click on Options / Folder Preferences  - click the arrow on the Trash Folder box, select "Do Not Use Trash"
